Our next outing is to Gillespie Park, 10 Tannington Terrace, Gillespie Rd, London N5 1LE on Tuesday 24th October.
Meet at 11am at the Gillespie Road entrance. Gillespie Park is a public park and Islington's largest open space. The Ecology Centre is in Gillespie Park and is by the Gillespie Road entrance.
From Gillespie Park's website:
- 2.8 hectare nature reserve which is home to a wealth of wildlife, including 244 species of plants, 94 species of birds and 24 types of butterflies.
- Ponds, woodland and meadow areas.
There are loos at the Ecology Centre which we can use. However the Ecology Centre is busy on Tuesdays so we can't expect to use any other of their facilities. So fingers crossed for good weather.
We are hoping for some good Autumn colour.
Bring a packed lunch and a sketching stool. There are cafes on Blackstock Road, but they are a bit of a distance from the park.
The 4, 19 and 236 buses run along Blackstock Road. The nearest undergrounds are Finsbury Park and Arsenal and there is an overground station at Drayton Park.
And some more pics from the "Not The Post Building" outing
